The Focusrite RedNet MP8R is an 8-channel remote-controlled Microphone Preamplifier and A/D converter for Dante audio-over-IP networks, housed in a compact 1U rackmount chassis. It features dual Ethernet ports with daisy-chaining and redundancy modes, dual power supplies with fault detection, and remote and front-panel power status indicators. Each preamp offers a maximum input level of 28dBu, 20dB pad, high-pass filter, polarity inversion, phantom power, and dual input impedance of 10kΩ or 2.4kΩ. The MP8R includes gain tracking, appearing as a 16-channel device with eight direct preamp feeds and eight DSP-compensated outputs for digital splits. Control is available via RedNet Control, Pro Tools, MIDI, OCA, or directly from the front panel, which features 6-segment metering and numeric gain display. The unit includes eight channels of high-precision A/D conversion at up to 192kHz/24-bit with minimal latency and high dynamic range, and integrates fully with all Dante network components.
