The Yamaha MB-8322 is a 22″ field-corps marching bass drum constructed with a 7-ply maple shell that enhances deep tones with a punchy, focused attack. Lighter than hardwood drums, it features 45-degree bearing edges for optimal head resonance. Ideal for the third position in a bass line, especially when paired with smaller drums under 20″. The 9-ply maple hoops with rounded edges ensure uniform, consistent tuning around the drum. Wide-body claw hooks reduce tension rod stress for easier tuning and greater durability. Lightweight die-cast lugs with an arch-shaped center minimize lug-to-shell contact, allowing longer shell vibration and resonance. These lugs are 26% lighter and 60% stronger than previous 8200 series models. Thick 5.4mm steel tension rods provide high tuning tension without significant weight, making the MB-8322 a durable and responsive choice for marching ensembles.
