The Yamaha MB-8320 is a 20″ field-corps marching bass drum featuring a 7-ply maple shell that delivers deep tones with a punchy, focused attack. Its 45-degree bearing edges maximize head resonance for full sound projection. The drum’s 9-ply maple hoops with rounded edges ensure consistent, uniform tuning, while wide-body claw hooks reduce tension rod stress for easier tuning and enhanced durability. Lightweight die-cast lugs with an arch-shaped center reduce shell contact, allowing longer vibration and increased resonance. These lugs are 26% lighter and 60% stronger than the previous 8200 series. The drum is equipped with thick 5.4mm steel tension rods designed for high tuning tension without adding significant weight, making it ideal for field-corps performance.
