Details
The Rode NT1 Condenser Microphone is a new 1” diaphragm condenser microphone from Rode that is very similar in looks to the popular NT1-A microphone, but has been totally redesigned, the only same component is the mesh grille.
Codenamed the HF6, the NT1’s capsule has been designed with a combination of artistic input and modern manufacturing techniques, providing a microphone that sounds like famous microphones from yester years. There is a detailed mid-range response and smooth highs, with a well rounded and warm bass response.
Rode have done it again with another world first manufacturing technique, that being the suspension of the transducer in the NT1 using Rycote’s Lyre system, which minimises external vibrations. The capsule is then connected with high-quality electronics which ensure the lowest noise level possible, making the NT1 an extremely quiet condenser microphone at only 4.5dBA of self-noise.
The body of the NT1 is machined from aluminium and then nickel plated to make it corrosion resistant. A further military-grade ceramic layer is then coated on which ensures resistance to scratches and marks. The NT1 is supplied with a Rode SMR shock mount which features a double-Lyre suspension system which will ensure further cancellation of unwanted vibrations. There is also a pop shield on the SMR shock mount and a Rode dust cover is included for the NT1 microphone.
